Entrepreneurship is the lifeblood of the global economy. It is entrepreneurs who innovate and disrupt the status quo and create new, sustainable, solutions. It is entrepreneurs who create new jobs and wealth. It is entrepreneurs who support local communities and it will be entrepreneurs who solve many of the challenges that our world faces today.

But entrepreneurship is changing and a new understanding has emerged. Increased awareness of environmental and social challenges, together with growing accountability and scrutiny from the media and the public at large, mean that businesses are increasingly focusing on people and planet as well as profit, the so called “triple bottom line”. This is the domain of the social entrepreneur.

The purpose of our challenge is to raise awareness of the benefits of entrepreneurship in all its aspects, while focusing on the development of social entrepreneurs and raising funds for a charity that finds, funds and supports them.
